Dan, this is exactly what I needed to read this morning. Thank you. Yes, waiting is the most difficult of the three. I have waited in the past when I challenged the theory that ‘Phonological awareness deficit’ is the cause of illiteracy. Now, I just have to wait for some new research students to do a research report on why many kids shut down from learning to read. It is difficult to go against professors who are now gathering many supporters to bring back ‘Whole language’ but…
